| In order for
students to get the Ministry Approved Beginner Driver Education Certificate students
must complete a driver education package consisting of a minimum twenty five (25) hours in
the classroom and ten (10) hours instruction in the car. Our school is one of the driving
schools approved to teach this course.
Benefits of the Ministry Approved Beginner Driver Education Certificate Course
- The certificate entitles you to a discount on your insurance of up to 41%. This discount
can save you thousands of dollars! When you buy your own car or add your name to a current
policy you can get a considerable reduction in insurance fees.
- The time period for doing the G1 road test is reduced by FOUR (4) months. So instead of
waiting for one year before taking the G1 road test you can do the test in EIGHT (8)
months.
- All driving schools have a similar package. Rose Driving School is unique. We are
approved to use computers for eight (8) out of the twenty five (25) hours of class
instruction.
Our Computer Instruction gives you these benefits:
- Flexible hours.You can do lessons at your own pace and convenience during our regular
office hours. Choose your time to do your lessons. You don't have to book an appointment
for computer lessons.
- Work at your own pace.Take your time or finish as quickly as you can. Your lesson can be
15 minutes long, an hour or four hours. You choose!
- Convenience.We are open 11:00 am - 7:00 pm on weekdays and on Saturdays from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
- Once you have completed your eight hours on the computer you can begin your teaching in
car lessons.
Class Lectures
In addition to the eight (8) hours of self-paced instruction on the computer each
student must complete six sessions of class lectures to give a total of 25 hours of class
instruction. For these class lectures you have a choice of attending lectures on Saturdays
only, weekdays only or a combination of weekdays and Saturdays. You can attend Saturdays from
10:00 am to 1:00 pm and weekdays on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Because each session is an individualized subject, independent of the others, the sessions may be taken out
of sequence and none consecutively. Just make sure you don't repeat the same lecture twice.
In-car Lessons
The first in-car lesson is booked through the office, but the student may schedule subsequent lessons
directly with the in-car trainer. The only prerequisite is that the student must have a driving permit or license.
Certificate
Upon completion of the the 25 hours classroom and 10 hours in car training the student may apply for the
Ministry Approved certificate by contacting the office IN PERSON. Certificate processsing can
not be accomplished
by mail or fax.
Road Test
Road test may be booked after completion of the course and Rose Driving School will assist students with this
process.
Eight months road tests will only be booked once the student has Ministry Approved certificate. Rental of the
instructor's car for the road test is available for a nominal fee.
Second Level G2-Exit Preparation(Re: G Licence)
Rose Driving School offers training designed for G2 licensed drivers to prepare them for their second level exit test(commonly referred to G2 -Exit test) in Ontario's graduated licensing system.The initial lesson is intended as an evaluation.Students will see the new standard that's expected,and adjustments will be made by the student by practicing on their own or with an instructor.
During the in car session,the instructor will take the student through a typical test,and clearly showing the student their level of performance in relation to the new G2 standards.Drivers who do not fully comprehend the new standards may opt to take additional instruction to fix the targeted areas.
